Tecnica Fling Ski Boot – Women’s Dark Blue/White, 8.5

They say that spring is when fancy turns to love, but we disagreespring’s nice, but the first snowfall of the year is when butterflies flutter in our stomach and we inevitably fall in love with ski bums of questionable hygiene. This year, confine your romantic yearnings to your gear and plunge into a torrid season-long affair with the Tecnica Fling Ski Boot. Built with a women-specific last that features a narrow heel pocket for increased hold and a wider forefoot for comfort, the Fling is a 90-flex boot designed for smaller ladies who still like to rip. The cuff is slightly lower to accommodate shorter skiers, and features a scalloped shape and adjustable spoiler that allows you to fine-tune your stanceslide it up for a more aggressive forward stance, or down if you prefer more relaxed cruising. Tecnica’s four-layer Quadrafit liner is heat-moldable, too, so you can shape it to your foot for a perfect, hot-spot-free fit. To make sure you fall deeper and deeper in love with the Fling, Tecnica also built in inner and outer cuff adjustment rivets, allowing you to fine-tune your cuff/leg alignment for increased comfort and performance, and dual flex-adjusment rivets on the rear spine of the boot that screw in and out using the included tool. Even the top two buckle catches are adjustable, courtesy of a rivet that’s got three different settings, giving you 44mm of fit-perfecting range. It’s not a morning-ruining battle to get the Fling on your foot, either, because Tecnica molded a piece of Quick Instep soft plastic onto the instep of the boot, making entry and exit a breeze while allowing the Fling to maintain its low-volume 98mm performance last. The instep buckle catch is hinged, too, easing the on/off process and providing a more ergonomic fit when buckled. There’s even a soft Viva Velvet fur lining, because what’s a good romance without a touch of luxury’
